Countries Restriction

The Countries Restriction options in the Maspik plugin allow you to control which countries can submit forms based on their geographic location. This can help you block unwanted traffic from specific regions or restrict submissions to certain countries.

Allowed or Block Countries

Description: This option allows you to either block or allow form submissions from specific countries. Depending on your selection, you can either restrict form submissions to only the selected countries or block submissions from the selected countries.

How to Use:

  1. Open the plugin settings.
  2. Navigate to the Countries Restriction section.
  3. Select either “Allow” or “Block” to determine how the selected countries will be treated.
    • If you select “Allow,” only the selected countries in the next field will be able to submit forms.
    • If you select “Block,” the selected countries in the next field will be blocked from submitting forms.
  4. In the country selection field, Select the countries you want to allow or block.

Example:

  • Allow: If you want to allow form submissions only from the USA and Canada, select “Allow” and then choose “USA” and “Canada” from the country list. Submissions from any other country will be blocked.
  • Block: If you want to block form submissions from China and Russia, select “Block” and then choose “China” and “Russia” from the country list. Submissions from any other country will be allowed.

Risk:

  • By selecting specific countries, you might inadvertently block legitimate users from other countries. Regularly check the spam log to ensure no legitimate users are being blocked.

Custom Error Message for Country Blacklist

Description: This option allows you to set a custom error message that will be displayed when a form submission is blocked due to country restrictions.

How to Use:

  1. Open the plugin settings.
  2. Navigate to the Countries Restriction section.
  3. Enter your custom error message.

Example: Enter a message like “We’re sorry, but submissions from your country are not allowed.”

By configuring these settings, you can effectively manage and control the geographic origin of form submissions, ensuring that your forms are protected from unwanted regions while allowing legitimate users to submit their information without issues.
